Reducing Toxicity In Your Kitchen

Toxicity is a real issue in today's world, including in your own kitchen. But the great thing is that by being proactive, you CAN reduce your exposure.

Teflon is a common compound used in Non Stick cookware. The additive of PFOA is very toxic and is now found in nearly ALL human samples (including cord blood). It does not biodegrade and is excreted only slowly. So avoiding Teflon is a critical first step in reducing toxicity in your kitchen. Cookware options instead of Teflon: Stainless Steel Cast Iron Ceramic Titanium Porcelain Enameled Iron Anodized Aluminum (unless your child has heavy metals, then you may want to be cautious with this)

I personally love my cast iron. I use them almost exclusively and when well seasoned, they provide a natural stick resistance. What do you use in your kitchen and why? Sound off with Real Food Mum as we explore how to keep our kitchens healthy and low tox!
